This room follows the same planning as the rest of the nursery taking into consideration the six areas of learning which are: Communication and Language, Physical development, Personal Social and Emotional development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design

The staff spend considerable time talking and listening to children, whose language and speech skills are developing rapidly. Imaginative play equipment, dressing up clothes, home corner, creative play, these all help children to express themselves.

Stimulating a healthy interest and curiosity in their world, and at the same time developing fine motor skills together with personal and social skills through play and fun.

This is also an important time to develop and encourage cooperative play, socialising and empathising with their friends.

As with other rooms there is a key worker system where each child can develop a close relationship with a member of staff, again individual records are kept by the key worker to develop their learning and skills.

Moving On
Every effort is made to make the move to Snowdrops as smooth as possible, a gradual introduction is made and once again parents are involved in each step of the transition.
